Local businesses step up to support re-opening of Centennial Pool
Business sponsorship and limited tickets still available for Centennial Pool fundraiser
–This Saturday, April 30, the city’s first Mayor’s Fundraiser event will be staged at Centennial Park to help offset the costs of reopening Centennial Pool. “Everyone in the Pool” is a friendly and fun island themed evening event with food, beverages, entertainment and silent auctions.
Many local businesses have already sponsored the event but sponsorship opportunities are still available. Everyone can contribute to the pool fund, from the most modest individual donation to the larger corporate sponsors. Major sponsors will be commemorated with special “lifesaver” signage that will remain on display every summer.
In 2008, the recession forced the city to close Centennial Pool to save costs, and it has been closed since. In 2015, the Paso Robles City Council directed city staff to find a way to re-open the pool for the 2016 swim season. They voted to spend more than $500,000 to bring the facility into compliance with current ADA requirements and other repairs.
Limited tickets are available for purchase at the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce, 1225 Park Street, Paso Robles.
