Local Congresswoman Lois Capps in Paso

Lois_Capps_2011_official_photoCongresswoman Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, is scheduled to make an appearance in Paso Robles today, Friday, Feb. 1, the Paso Robles Press reported. She will be here for a meet-and-greet with local businesses and the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce. Her itinerary was not posted on her website. Capps visited Atascadero on Thursday, according to her Twitter feed.

Lois Capps is the U.S. Representative for California’s 24th congressional district, serving in Congress since 2003. She is a member of the Democratic Party. The district was numbered as the 22nd District prior to the 2000 round of redistricting. It consists of a long, thin strip of the Southern California coast in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. It includes the cities of San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, Santa Ynez Valley, Goleta, Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Ventura, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, and Isla Vista.

Capps serves on the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where she is a member of the Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Health. She is a member of the New Democrat Coalition.
