Local dentists volunteer to screen elementary students

Paso Robles dentists

Dr. Keyla Springe performs a dental screening for a Paso Robles elementary student. Such screenings are important for a child’s health and well-being.

During the month of February, many local dentists have volunteered their time to screen elementary students throughout the district for dental abnormalities or decay.

These screenings are useful in identifying conditions that might need further assessment and treatment. Such treatment for dental problems can improve a child’s health and well-being. Studies show that screening and motivation significantly improve the percentage of school children who seek dental care.

The parents of all students who are screened will be informed of the dentist’s findings. Referrals are made by district health staff to ensure that students with obvious acute dental needs are treated promptly.

The Paso Robles School District is extending a special thank you to the dentists who are volunteering their time: Dr. Kathryn McFarland, Dr. Manouchehr Poursemail, Dr. Theron Stout, Dr. Keyla Springe, Dr. Erick Alltucker, Dr. Rick Wearda, Dr. Lisa Lu Davis, Dr. Charles Cox, Dr. Patrick Goroski, Dr. Jennifer Kang, Dr. Edward Monoya, Dr. Edith Pallencaoe, and Dr. Doug Harrington.
