Daniel Jeffrey Callas’ vehicle struck telephone pole, caught fire–Officers from the Templeton office of the California Highway Patrol have arrested 27-year-old Daniel Jeffrey Callas after an accident investigation early Wednesday morning in Paso Robles led to a DUI.
Early Wednesday morning at approximately 3:20 a.m., Callas, was driving his 2002 Toyota Land Rover, southbound on Adelaida Road in Paso Robles, when he lost control of the vehicle that he was driving and drove off the edge of the roadway. The vehicle collided with an AT&T wooden telephone pole. After the collision, the car began to smoke and eventually caught on fire and burned. CHP arrived on scene to conduct an accident investigation, which turned into a DUI investigation.
At the end of the investigation, Callas was placed under arrest for DUI. He was arrested and transported to Twin Cities Hospital for his injuries. which included possible broken ribs, a possible collapsed lung, and small scrapes to hands and feet. He was cited and released into the custody of Twin Cities Hospital while he is treated for his injuries.
This investigation is currently ongoing by the California Highway Patrol.
