Heart to Heart Real Estate brokers Mark McConnell and Liz Lee Marziello recently donated over $30,000 to local nonprofits in San Luis Obispo County. The couple donates half of their commissions to organization or people in need, as chosen by their clients.

Last month, the real estate brokers presented checks for $12,184.25 to the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation and $10,697.50 to Food Bank of SLO County. Their clients Ted Webster, Carol Janssen, BJ and Mark Mercer designated the non-profits as beneficiaries of their commissions.

Other recent donations to nonprofit organizations include $1,518.75 to Big Brothers Big Sisters, $1,518.75 to Rise, $4,935 to Youth & Family Church Network, $450 to Woods Humane Society, and $450 Mobile Oil Changers Foundation.

Heart to Heart’s guiding principle of giving through a real estate transaction applies to buyers, sellers and referrals from anywhere in the US, Marziello says. According to McConnell, “Our business involves transactions; many of which are based on the circumstances of daily life: re-location, divorce, taxes, death or simply the desire to make a change. If a transaction is going to happen, either by necessity or choice, would people choose our company based on our core belief that we all “gain by giving?” The idea for Heart to Heart was born; creating philanthropy in the housing market.
