Update: Identity released of man who drowned at Lake Nacimiento

Man identified as Oscar Edwardo Palomares-Osoria of Cocoran

–The Coroner’s Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a man whose body was recovered from Lake Nacimiento on Sunday.

The man has been identified as 29-year old Oscar Edwardo Palomares-Osoria of Corcoran, California. Witnesses reported hearing the man call out in distress while swimming in the lake near the Sandy Point campground, before going under the water. At this time there is no indication of suspicious circumstances. An autopsy will be conducted on Wednesday to determine the manner and cause of death

Identity of 29-year-old man still to be determined

Lake Nacimiento.

–The body of a 29-year-old man has been recovered from the waters of Nacimiento Lake. Reports say that a call reporting a drowning came in to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department around noon on Sunday. The Sheriff’s Dive Team, Monterey County Parks and a CHP helicopter assisted with the search and recovery of the victim.

The victim has only been described as a man who was swimming in the lake, reports say. An investigation is ongoing.
