Update: Train fatality was suicide, coroner says

Aaron Matthew Wolf was Cal Poly student from Martinez

The Coroner’s Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is releasing information about a man hit and killed by a train on the tracks West of Sweet Bay Lane in rural San Luis Obispo on Jan. 9.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Aaron Matthew Wolf, a Cal Poly student from Martinez. An autopsy was performed, and coroner’s investigators have determined the manner of death to be suicide. The cause of death is listed as multiple blunt force trauma. Toxicology results are pending and should be available in 6-8 weeks.

Victim is identified as Aaron Matthew Wolf of San Luis Obispo

–On Saturday, at approximately 8:45 p.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs received a report of a pedestrian struck by a train in the area of Sweet Bay Lane in San Luis Obispo. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified by the Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office as Aaron Matthew Wolf of San Luis Obispo. The circumstances regarding the incident are still under investigation by the coroner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. No further information is available at this time.
