Maria Kisyova is a third year Environmental Management & Protection major at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is working for Templeton Community Services District (TCSD) as a Conservation Intern. And in a short period of time, she has participated in a number of projects regarding conservation in Templeton.

You may have met her at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings where she shares water conservation and other information. Or if you attended the Templeton Chamber of Commerce Business Expo in Templeton American Legion Hall on September 11th, you would have found her holding down the fort at the conservation end of TCSD’s booth.

Have you noticed the “water by request” table tents at Templeton restaurants? That too is another project Maria has facilitated within the community.

Next Saturday, Maria will be working with volunteers at the 2014 Templeton Community & Creek Clean Up Day. Stop by and say hello when you sign in and pick up your assignments!

And coming up, Maria is working on a Styrofoam reduction program within the town of Templeton through an information campaign that includes conservation grants provided through TCSD.

School starts for Maria at Cal Poly on September 22 and her current TCSD office schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 1 pm is likely to change somewhat. In the meantime, if you have any conservation questions, she can be reached at conservation@templetoncsd.org or by calling the TCSD office to leave a message.
