Mission San Antonio hosts Mission Days April 11

Annual event includes activities, music, art, food & more

The public is invited to enjoy the pristine valley of the oaks and take a step back in time to the era of Spanish California and its Franciscan Missions at Mission San Antonio de Padua during its annual Mission Days event on Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Throughout the day, historical re-enactors in costume will portray soldiers, artisans, vaqueros, musicians and dancers. Mission crafts and activities will be demonstrated including weaving, rope making, candle making, acorn grinding, tortilla making, and much more. Members of the New World Baroque Orchestra and Choir, under the direction of John Warren, will play original music composed for Mission San Antonio. Artists will display their original artwork, with purchases available.

Parking and admission to Mission Days is $10 per car. Mission-era food will be offered for $10 per plate with water and soft drinks available.

Mission San Antonio de Padua, the third oldest Spanish mission in California, was founded by Junipero Serra in 1771. A state historical landmark, the mission is on the national register of historic places and remains an active Catholic parish and retreat center.
