The Carmel & Naccasha law firm announced this week that Shauna N. Cunningham has joined the firm as a partner and Heather K. Whitham has been promoted to a partner at the firm.

“Shauna and Heather strengthen a diverse group of attorneys that exemplify team work and through focus, responsiveness and efficiency meet the needs of our clients,” said Ziyad Naccasha, managing partner at the firm.

Whitham has distinguished herself as an outstanding counselor and advocate and Cunningham brings an exciting new skill set and depth of experience in educational and business transactional law to the firm.

Whitham joined Carmel & Naccasha in 2010. She focuses her practice on municipal law, land use law, transactional law, and civil litigation. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for 15 years as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Torrance. She works primarily out of the San Luis Obispo office. She is a member of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association and the San Luis Obispo Women Lawyers Association.

Cunningham joined Carmel & Naccasha in January. She advises corporations and other business entities and represents school districts and other public entities in a variety of matters. Previously, she worked out of the San Luis Obispo office of Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard. Cunningham will work primarily out of the firm’s Paso Robles office. She is a member of the San Luis Obispo County and California State Bar Associations.

With offices in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the attorneys at Carmel & Naccasha LLP have practiced law locally and nationally. The firm’s lawyers focus their practice and provide exemplary client services in the areas of municipal law, business transactions, real property, land use, commercial and employment litigation, taxation and tax controversies, trusts and estate planning, automobile dealership law, wine law, and insurance coverage. The firm was originally founded in 2004 by Tim Carmel and Ziyad Naccasha.
