The 2014-15 District Governor for Rotary District 5240 is Loretta Butts from the Rotary Club of Atascadero. She will lead the 73 clubs, 3,600 members, within a district that covers San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and a large part of Kern Counties.

Butts joined the Atascadero club in 1994, and experienced the feeling and emotion of being a Rotarian in 2005 while on a National Immunization Day (NID) to Nigeria to administer the Polio vaccination. She became the first president of the Rotary Club of Templeton in 2001 when that club was chartered, and returned to the Atascadero club in 2005.

The Central Coast has been her home since 1989, and Loretta is employed in the financial services industry. She and husband John have three grown children, and 10 grandchildren.

“We are extremely proud that the District Governor is from our 63 member club” said John Hollenbeck, Atascadero club president for 2014-15. John owns a civil engineering consulting business in Atascadero and formerly managed the Nacimiento Water Project for San Luis Obispo County. “The Atascadero club will do all we can to support District Governor Loretta have a fun and successful year”, he said.
