North County Farmers Market awarded $18,000 for food stamp program 

Incentive designed to increase purchase of fruits and vegetables by food stamp recipientsPaso Robles Farmers Market

–The North County Farmers Market Association was awarded a Food Insecurity and Nutrition Incentive, or FINI grant for $18,000 from the federal government to offer a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, customers a daily match of $10 for those who use their EBT card at any of our farmers markets.

The purpose of the grant is to increase the purchase of fruits and vegetables by food stamp recipients.

The grant match will start on April 1, 2016, at the following locations:
Atascadero – Wednesdays, 3-6 p.m. Smart and Final Parking lot, 8200 El Camino Real
Baywood Park – Mondays, 2-4:30 p.m. 2nd & Santa Maria St., Baywood Park
Paso Robles – Tuesdays, 3-6 p.m.  11th & Spring Street
Templeton – Saturdays, 9-12:30 Community Park, 6th & Crocker St.
