–The newest tennis pro at Templeton Tennis Ranch is Svetlana Krivencheva. From Bulgaria, Krivencheva, 42, started playing tennis at the age of 8. Over the course of her career, she has 119 Association of Tennis Professionals/Women’s Tennis Association Tour and International Tennis Federation Pro Circuit victories in singles and 175 in doubles. She went on to represent Bulgaria in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and is a former Women’s Tennis Association touring professional.

While teaching tennis in the Visalia area, she heard about Templeton Tennis Ranch from a client. After several failed attempts at finding it – it’s nestled in rural Templeton on the west side of 101 near Target on what looks like a dead-end road – she said she finally found it on one trip to Morro Bay.

“I found them and thought, ‘we had to live in this community,'” Krivencheva said. “We had a good connection with the owners. They said they’d call me when they were ready.”

She started teaching at the sports center in mid October 2015 and will be completely moved to Paso Robles by the end of the month.

“Svetlana brings an unprecedented level of tennis instruction to our region,” said Templeton Tennis Ranch President Ralph Goehring said. “She will work with tennis players of all levels and ages, and will also lead camps and clinics.”

Krivencheva said her youngest student is 4 years old and her oldest is 73. Currently, she teaches 15 classes, including private lessons, but could definitely take on more as people learn about the tennis club.

“It’s a complex sport that helps them be healthy,” she said.

Templeton Tennis Ranch, which also has pickleball courts, a fitness center, pro-shop and more, with a 11,000-square-foot clubhouse opened in March 2015. The business is owned in partnership Templeton resident Marc Eisemann, Ralph and Judy Goehring and their son, Simon Goehring.

“Finding a facility of this caliber in such an up-and-coming, beautiful area is exciting for me,” Krivencheva said. “I can see [Templeton Tennis Ranch] hosting professional tennis events in the future.”

Through Feb. 13, Krivencheva said that the community can get a free lesson, including a racquet and balls to borrow, from her. To sign up for the free lesson, she said to call the front desk and ask to try a lesson with her. Then, they’ll be able to contact Krivencheva directly.
