One dies in multi-car crash on Hwy 46 

UPDATE Dec. 27, 2012 – The woman killed in Wednesday’s crash was identified as Morganne Cortes, a 19-year-old of Paso Robles, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.

The county coroner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Dec. 26, 2012 – Paso Robles Police and Emergency Services responded at 9 a.m. Wednesday to a fatal car collision at Golden Hills Road and Highway 46. One female died at the scene. The identity of the deceased female passenger is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Initial information at the scene indicates three vehicles were involved and three injured persons are being transported to local hospitals. The identities of the persons involved in this collision are:  28 year old Paso Robles resident Samuel Hernandez (driver)  30 year old Paso Robles resident Justin Delphenich (driver)  19 year old Oceano resident Victoria Gonzales (driver)  30 year old Paso Robles resident Maximo Hernandez (passenger) Gonzales was treated and released from Twin Cities Community Hospital. All of the other parties were transported via ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with moderate to severe injuries. None of these injuries appear to be life-threatening. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The Atascadero Police Department is assisting with this investigation. The California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff’s Department and Caltrans assisted with this incident.
