Opolo’s Mountain Zinfandel wins best of show at Alameda County Fair
Opolo Vineyards scored big at the recent Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, Calif. The winery’s Mountain Zinfandel won the best of show ribbon at the fair’s wine competition.
“If you are one of those who believe that bigger is better wait until you try the multiple award winning Opolo Vineyards 2012 Mountain Zinfandel,” says Roger Sheridan of Opolo. “Appropriately named for its bountiful bouquet of fruit, this full bodied Zinfandel has wonderful notes of boysenberry and blackberry with chocolate, brown sugar and a toasty oak finish.”
“Mountain Zinfandel is Opolo Vineyards signature wine,” Sheridan says. This one wine brings 90 percent of Opolo’s new customers to the casual and friendly tasting room located at 7110 Vineyard Dr. in Paso Robles, he says. “They have had it at a friend’s house or a restaurant and come in wanting more.”
Another of Mountain Zinfandel’s accolades include a gold medal at the San Francisco Chronicle wine competition, where it went up against the best that Napa had to offer and won.
