Paso Robles graced with rainfall
The severe drought in California saw a drop in the bucket Sunday when a winter storm brought wet weather and even a little snow to the Sierras.
The light rain that fell, .69 inches in Paso Robles, won’t end the drought, but was a welcome sight.
Monday morning, dense fog has formed in the Salinas River Valley in and around the city of Paso Robles. Motorists need to be prepared for sudden drops to near zero visibility. The dense fog will restrict visibilities to a quarter mile or less through the morning hours.
The current rainfall season, which runs from July to June has yielded scant precipitation in town. There was a trace of rain in October, .27 inches in November, .30 inches in December 3, giving a pre-storm total of .57-inches, according to city records. The Paso Robles Water Divison has recorded an average annual rainfall total of 14.33 inches since 1942.
