PG&E to host Diablo Canyon outage hiring information fair

Diablo Canyon— Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) invites interested members of the public to attend an information fair on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, where details will be shared concerning temporary job opportunities to support upcoming maintenance outage work at Diablo Canyon Power Plant.

The outage hiring information fair will be held at the PG&E Energy Education Center, 6588 Ontario Road, San Luis Obispo, at the following times:

• 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
• 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Outage job seekers need only attend one session.

About every 18 months, one of the two Diablo Canyon reactor units is refueled. During a planned outage, supplemental workers from the community and around the country assist the plant’s nearly 1,500 employees on projects that support the continued safe, reliable and affordable operation of the facility. Temporary needs vary and typically include administrative, maintenance and mechanical positions.

PG&E contract partners and unions also will be on hand to discuss temporary outage job opportunities.

To reach the Energy Education Center, exit Highway 101 at San Luis Bay Drive, then head south on Ontario Road, the frontage road on the west side of the highway, for one block.
