The Pine Hearts will take the stage at Sculpterra Winery, located at 5015 Linne Road in Paso Robles, as part of a Songwriters At Play showcase from 1-4 p.m. on Feb. 9.

Yes, there’s a banjo in the lineup, but The Pine Hearts are an alternative (some say “y’all-ternative”) bluegrass band from Olympia,WA made up of Joe Capoccia (guitar/vocals), Lob Strilla (banjo/vocals), Derek McSwain (mandolin/vocals), and drummer Austin Cooper. Their style is based in traditional mountain music, infused with elements of Cajun/ zydeco, indie-rock, folk and country. Check out more info on the band at thepinehearts.bandcamp.com.

Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon, 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, (805) 226-8881. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing 4-song sets. A tip jar is passed around during the featured set, otherwise no cover. All ages are welcome – Sculpterra is great place for a family picnic.
