Pioneer Park restrooms getting upgrade

Pioneer Museum at Pioneer Park.

The restrooms at Pioneer Park are being upgraded. Pioneer Park is home to the Pioneer Skate Park, a baseball diamond, children’s playground, large grass picnic area and the Pioneer Museum. The restrooms at the park were built by volunteers in the late 70’s. The project is scheduled to begin January 17, 2013 and will be completed weather permitting, this spring.

Pioneer Park hosts activities all year round including youth baseball, picnics, birthday parties and cultural celebrations, the Paso Robles Event Center, Mid-State Fair and the annual Pioneer Day celebration.

“It will be great to have the restrooms open again and accessible to all citizens,” says Paso Robles Mayor Duane Picanco.

Work includes new paint, light fixtures and a roof. Upgrades include new fixtures and plumbing including toilets, sinks, soap dispensers and hand dryers. The restrooms, once completed, will meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards of accessibility.

C3 Construction & Development, Inc. of Paso Robles is doing the work. The city approved $54,472 to repair the restrooms at its regular meeting Nov. 20, 2012.
