Police searching for man after he drives up behind woman exercising alone

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who harassed two women in Arroyo Grande Monday.

On Oct. 24, at approximately 11:30 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a woman being followed by a man driving a silver or gray Kia Rio or Toyota Tercel in the area of Halcyon Road across from Cypress Ridge Parkway in rural Arroyo Grande. The man stopped his car and asked to speak to the woman who was out walking her dog.

The man began asking the woman personal questions including what she would do if a stranger tried to kiss her. The man indicated he was conducting a survey for school. At that time the woman broke off contact with the man and he drove away.

On the same day, approximately an hour and 20 minutes later at 12:50 p.m., a woman had been running in the area of Halcyon Road and Zenon Way in rural Arroyo Grande when she noticed a man driving a car that matched the description from the earlier incident, following and passing her three or four times. The man stopped the car and tried to contact the woman, but she ran away. The woman’s description of the suspect matched that from the earlier incident.

The man was describes as an overweight Filipino or Hispanic male adult, approximately 20 to 30 years old, dark short hair, prescription glasses, wearing a baseball cap and a t-shirt. Suspect was seen driving a silver or gray Kia Rio or Toyota Tercel
