Police find, then arrest missing at-risk man

Update at 7:58 p.m., Aug. 12, 2014: The Paso Robles Police Department located Darrel Robert Bennett, was reported earlier as a missing at-risk individual, today at approximately 5:45 p.m. while he was driving in the area of Highway 46 West and Theater Drive.

Bennett was evaluated and found to no longer be suicidal. During this contact, he was detained without incident for an unrelated criminal investigation and arrested as a result of that investigation, police report.

Bennett is currently being processed at the PRPD and will be booked into the SLO County Jail for one count of domestic violence, a felony, one count of false imprisonment, a felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and one count of possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Original post 2:02 p.m., Aug. 12, 2014: The Paso Robles Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating a missing/at-risk adult who has threatened to commit suicide.

The missing person is identified as Darrel Robert Bennett, a 47-year-old resident of Atascadero. Bennett is a white male adult, approximately 6’01”, 205-220 lbs., with blonde hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen at approximately 1 a.m. on Aug. 8 leaving the area of the 500 block of Creston Road in Paso Robles in his vehicle. This vehicle is described as a gold colored 2001 Toyota Camry 4 door, California license plate 7DMG158.

Anyone who may have information on Bennett’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Paso Robles Police Department at 237-6464.
