Update: Missing heirloom jewelry recovered 

–The Paso Robles Police Department has announced the recovery of the lost heirloom jewelry that had been reported to the media on Feb. 1.

Shortly after the media release and extensive news coverage, the woman captured on the Target surveillance recording contacted the Paso Robles Police Department.

The woman acknowledged finding the rings at Target and apologized for not turning over the lost jewelry sooner. The owner of the jewelry is not seeking criminal charges and is grateful for the return of the heirlooms, according to police.

The Paso Robles Police Department would like to thank the public in their assistance.

Police seek help identifying suspect who picked up lost bag of family jewelry

Citizen drops family rings, security footage reveals woman picking up bag and quickly leaving store

–On Dec. 7 at approximately 12:25 p.m., a citizen reported to the Paso Robles Police Department that she accidentally dropped a small bag of family rings while shopping at Target, located at 2305 Theatre Dr. in Paso Robles. The rings belonged to family members are very sentimental to the owner. Upon realizing she had lost the rings, the owner reported the situation to Target’s Loss Prevention Department.

Target was able to assist the woman, and the Paso Robles Police Department, by reviewing the store’s security footage. Video footage revealed a woman picked up the lost bag of rings and quickly left the store.

To date, the police department has been unable to locate the rings or identify the women in the video footage. The Paso Robles Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the woman believed to have taken the rings.
