Pop-Up Thirsty Thursday at Treana Tasting Cellar

Hope Family Wines

The Dirty River Boys will be playing Thursday at Hope Family Wines.

Treana Tasting Cellar is anything but your traditional vineyard tasting room. That’s on purpose. Owner Austin Hope has worked hard to ensure guests don’t feel intimidated by the wines his family has made since 1978. Guests are greeted by warm smiles, seated, and joined by a member of the staff to taste wines made under his successful labels including Treana, Liberty School, Candor, Troublemaker and his eponymous Austin Hope.

“Demystify wine,” says Hope. “That’s what we tell every staff member from day one. Wine shouldn’t be intimidating. Wine is all about gathering with good friends and family, and enjoying great food in a warm, inviting environment.”

Visitors and locals will get an opportunity to celebrate just that with a special Pop-Up Thirsty Thursday event at the tasting room on Feb. 25 from 5-8 p.m. The evening includes live entertainment with Red Dirt artists Dirty River Boys and The O’s. Admission is free, and food and wine is available for purchase. Next week’s event is a preview of the winery’s regularly scheduled Thirsty Thursdays starting up again in April.

Other winery events planned for spring include a Paint & Chardonnay-nay class, happy hour and a fun pairing competition during Vintage Paso, and an elegant pairing dinner benefitting Transitional Food & Shelter in Paso Robles. Giving back is part of the culture at Treana Tasting Cellar.

Hope was recently recognized by The Nobelity Project with the Ann Richards Founders Award at the Feed The Peace dinner in Austin, Texas, earlier this week. Hope donates all of the proceeds from sales of his “The Turk” wine to help provide clean drinking water to more than 1400 Kenyan families – effectively turning “wine into water.” Now that’s a cause worth drinking to.
