Portland’s Just People ready to rock Paso

The soul-rock band Just People will be featured at Sculpterra Winery on Oct. 27.
The Portland, Or.-based band has drawn comparisons to Pearl Jam, The Flaming Lips, Talking Heads and Cat Stevens. Says the Oregon Voice: “Just People are tough to pin down, but damn it, it just sounds so good.” Sample their sound at http://www.justpeoplemusic.com. Also in the Oct. 27 lineup: Oakland’s Jimbo Scott, and Paso’s own Dorian Michael.
The Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon from 1–4 p,m at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, (805) 226-8881. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing 4-song sets. The artists pass a tip jar during the featured set, otherwise no cover. All ages are welcome.
