Weather Underground report, Nov. 30, 2012

A series of storm systems will continue to move across southwestern California through Monday morning bringing periods of light to moderate rainfall to the area. A moist southwesterly flow will continue to generate light to locally moderate rain today through
this evening.

The storms this week have already dropped .31 inches of rain, with more to come. Gusty winds may cause power outages, PG&E warns.

Another period of heavier precipitation will begin late on Saturday and continue through Sunday night. At this time the storm system on Sunday has the potential to be the strongest and wettest.

As these systems move south and east across the area they will weaken. San Luis Obispo County will receive the greatest amount of rainfall as well as the south facing slopes of the Santa Ynez mountain range in Santa Barbara County. Rainfall totals will then begin to tapering off as these storm impulses moves across Ventura and then Los Angeles counties.

For coastal and valley areas… rainfall totals through Sunday night will range from one to three inches across San Luis Obispo County down to one quarter to three quarters of an inch across Los Angeles County. In the foothills and mountains… upslope flow will generate higher totals ranging from three to five inches across San Luis Obispo County down to a half to one and a half inches across Los Angeles County.

Snow levels through Sunday night are expected to remain above 8000 feet. Therefore… only the highest peaks will have any chance of receiving measurable snowfall.
