Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, the U.S. Representative for the 24th District which includes all of San Luis Obispo County, was set to visit Templeton Saturday afternoon. It’s a tour hosted by the Templeton Chamber of Commerce.

Planned visits include the Main Street Chamber office, followed by a tour of Main Street businesses, including Umpqua Bank, Nature’s Touch Nursery & Harvest and Clavo Cellars and finally a tour of Twin Cities Community Hospital. Nature’s Touch is owned by Melanie Blankenship, the District One Agricultural Liaison to the Board of Supervisors. Rep. Capps is a retired Registered Nurse who has an interest in the medical community of the North County.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy here on the Central Coast,” Capps said in advance of the tour. “I look forward to visiting these local businesses and hearing from their owners and workers about how the federal government can be a better partner in helping them do what they do best – create jobs and support economic growth.”

Staff from Rep. Capps office contacted the Economic Vitality Corporation and then the Templeton Chamber of Commerce late Thursday to arrange the tour.

The Templeton Chamber of Commerce is an alliance of over 270 North County businesses and citizens that has advocated for the economic vitality of the community of Templeton since 1902. For more information on the Templeton Chamber of Commerce, including membership
