–Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to join in the second annual Trinity Family 5K and Kids’ Mile event on Nov. 7 at CaliPaso Winery, located at 4230 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles. The event is hosted by the Trinity Lutheran School Boosters group as a fundraiser for the school, which is now in its 53rd year as part of the North County community. Check-in and walk-in registration is at 8 a.m.; the children’s one-mile run begins at 8:30 a.m.; and the 5K run begins at 9 a.m.

“This is a chance to exercise with your family in a beautiful setting while benefitting local children,” said Event Coordinator Heather Ruppe. “We hope that people from throughout the community with varying athletic abilities will join us either for a peaceful walk through the vineyards or to challenge their personal running time.”

Ruppe explained that baby strollers are not allowed because of the uneven texture of the route paths, which meander along rolling hills adjacent to vineyard land.

All children who participate in the one-mile “out and back” run will receive a medal, and all 5K participants receive a t-shirt. Those taking part in the 5K will make two loops along the planned route. A snack of bananas and oranges will also be provided for all participants.

Advance online registration is $22 for the 5K and $12 for the one mile. Walk-up registration will be available for slightly higher fees of $30 for the 5K and $15 for the one mile. Advance registration ensures that participants receive their requested t-shirt size. To register visit www.trinityfamily5k.com or contact Trinity Lutheran School at (805) 238-0335.
