School district displays recommended textbooks
The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District will be conducting a public display of proposed textbooks from March 9 through March 20, at the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Office, located at 800 Niblick Road, Paso Robles.The public is invited to view these textbooks prior to adoption by the Paso Robles Board of Trustees.
Materials are available for preview Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. All public parties interested in viewing the display must check in at the front desk prior to viewing the materials.
Public comments are due by 4 p.m., on Friday, March 20. The board of trustees will be presented these textbooks and recommendations at the regular board meeting on March 24.
The textbooks on display are for grades 9-12 mathematics courses and two Career Technical Education (CTE) Courses. Included in the display will be: (California Editions) Larson Big Ideas, Course 3; LarsonBig Ideas, Algebra 1; Larson Big Ideas, Algebra 2; Larson Big Ideas, Geometry published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2015; and Precalculus with Limits: A Graphing Approach, 7th Edition, Larson, 2016, published by Cengage Learning.
In addition, on display are textbooks for CTE Career Exploration, Career Choices and Changes: A Workbook to Discover Who You Are, What You Want, and How to Get It, 5th Edition, published by Academic Innovations, 2013; and Early Childhood Education and Careers in Education, Total Learning: Developmental Curriculum for the Young Child, 8th Edition, 2011, published by Pearson.
