Scrimmages signal high school football season is near
Paso Robles, Templeton, and Nipomo players face off at War Memorial Stadium
– Three football teams took to the field Friday night at War Memorial Stadium in Paso Robles for an evening of scrimmages. It was just what the hometown crowd needed to get into the spirit of the upcoming football season. Crowds filled the seats on both sides of the stadium and, with enthusiasm and loyalty, cheered on their teams throughout the night.
Hosted by the Paso Robles High School Bearcats, the scrimmages kicked off with the Nipomo Titans challenging the Templeton Eagles; the Titans then faced the defending CIF Southern Section Northern Division championship Bearcats, and the evening closed with the Bearcats taking on the Eagles. Scores are not kept during pre-season scrimmages.
The pre-season begins this week for teams throughout San Luis Obispo County.
On Friday, Aug. 28, the Paso Robles High School Bearcats will host the Clovis Cougars at War Memorial Stadium. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. The Atascadero Greyhounds are set to host the Morro Bay Pirates at 7 p.m. The Templeton Eagles will hit the road to face the Bakersfield Christian Eagles at 7 p.m.
