Small earthquake shakes north county
A small earthquake rumbled this morning through Morro Bay, Paso Robles and Atascadero. The United States Geological Survey reports it was a 2.6 magnitude temblor that started just after 5:23 a.m. The quake was shallow at a depth of just over a mile.
The location was eleven miles south of Paso Robles, eleven miles north of Morro Bay, eight miles east of Cayucos, and eleven miles west of Atascadero. The last reported local earthquakes were when two small earthquakes rattled San Simeon in June last year.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
