SummerWood re-opens newly renovated bed and breakfast

SummerWood Inn property receives extensive interior and exterior renovation

SummerWood Winery

SummerWood Winery’s guest inn located at the gateway to Paso Robles wine country, provides guests with a destination where they can enjoy artisan wines and farm fresh cuisine in one setting.

Shayne Kline, General Manager of SummerWood Winery & Inn, has announced the re-opening of the SummerWood Inn in Paso Robles, California. The SummerWood Inn property, located at the gateway to the westside Paso Robles wine region on Arbor Road and Highway 46 West, has recently undergone an extensive interior and exterior renovation.

San Luis Obispo Architect Greg Wynn and Ricigliano Construction of Templeton managed the project, along with Mari Landscaping of Paso Robles. SummerWood Inn Manager/Executive Chef Kelly Wangard led the interior design of the new modern farmhouse aesthetic.

The SummerWood Inn renovation includes updates of all guest suites, and a re-design of the 9,000 square-foot inn’s entrance, grand living room, and dining room along with the addition of a demonstration kitchen and an outdoor dining space. The site plan utilizes energy-efficient materials and LED lighting, with an overall holistic look at sustainability. The Inn’s design is a combination of historic meets contemporary blended into a rustic, vintage elegance. “Our goal is to provide SummerWood Inn guests with an authentic Paso Robles experience – a destination where they can enjoy our limited production wines and wine country cuisine in one setting. While we have the intimate feel of a bed & breakfast, we also have the amenities and concierge service of a luxury hotel.” commented Wangard. “Guests to the SummerWood Inn are treated to a daily farm fresh cooked-to-order breakfast, an afternoon wine and appetizer reception, evening dessert and coffee, and a nightly turn-down service. A bottle of SummerWood Private Reserve wine welcomes each guest upon check-in to their guest suite. We want our guests to experience a feast for all senses during their wine country visit, and most of all, feel a sense of relaxation.” Guest amenities include culinary inspired bath and body products and handmade caramel candies.

The SummerWood Inn has a full calendar of epicurean and healthy life-style events planned for Fall 2013, including a Farmers Market Tour & Cooking Demonstration, Yoga Retreat and Food & Wine classes. The SummerWood Inn will also be the venue for SummerWood Winery’s annual “Sentio Under the Stars” winemaker dinners in October.

SummerWood Winery & Inn is located on the westside of Paso Robles, set on a 36-acre estate vineyard. The vineyard is currently being re-developed with the goal of achieving Sustainability in Practice (SIP™) Certification. The picturesque property features multiple picnic areas and sites for special events, including weddings. The winery’s focus is on limited production wines, with both the Rhône and Bordeaux-style selections receiving high honors from The Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator publications. SummerWood Winery & Inn is owned by the Fukae family of Japan, with the winery’s name originating from the translation of Mr. Fukae’s oldest son’s first name, Natsuki. The SummerWood Inn will begin phase two of the renovation in the Spring of 2014, with the addition of culinary gardens.
