TCSD FLOORS RECEIVE A FACELIFT – New carpeting was laid today in the Templeton Fire Station, the newly renovated office and conference room spaces behind the Templeton Community Services District (TCSD) boardroom, and the boardroom itself. This weekend, the TCSD offices will receive the new carpet as well. According to TCSD General Manager Jeff Briltz, the new carpet is expected to have a lifespan of at least 17 to 20 years. He went on to say thatthis carpet is made up of individual squares and maintenance will be much easier and more cost effective. Stubborn stains and problem areas are easy to fix – simply remove the affected squares and replace with new ones.

FIRE FUNDING – Templeton Community Services District (TCSD) Board of Directors took the next step toward asking residents to support a benefit assessment / parcel tax to provide necessary funding for Templeton’s Fire Department. After hearing a presentation at least week’s meeting, the Board authorized staff to obtain a formal proposal for a professional survey and attendant services to determine if the community is supportive of providing additional funding for the Fire Department.

Veteran Bob Bejarano, who recently returned from service in Afghanistan, is the final candidate and fills out a slate that also includes incumbents Bill Pelfrey, Rex Swan, Wayne Gretter, Jeff DeBrish, and Rebecca Pfeiffer along with new candidates Cecil Martinez and Phil Twomey. The election will be held on Thursday, March 5 at the Templeton Fire Station / TCSD boardroom. WATER NEWS

JUST IN THURSDAY – The Department of Water Resources (DWR) announced that it was increasing the 2015 water deliveries to most State Water Project users to 15 percent – up 5 percent over what was originally announced late last year for 2015, and now 3 times as much as was allotted in 2014 (only 5 percent).

ARNOLD ON PASO BASIN WATER DISTRICT – During tonight’s TAAG (Templeton Area Advisory Group) meeting, 5th District Supervisor Debbie Arnold shared her thoughts on the County being the applicant to form the proposed Water District that will most likely encompass a significant portion of the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin. “Our system wasn’t set up for governments to create governments – I was absolutely appalled when this was added to the legislation at the last minute,” said Arnold. She went on to say that the County will be working to put together the parameters of the application and that discussions regarding several aspects will be coming before the Board of Supervisors.
