1. Local 18-year-old diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer

Riley Benado, an 18-year-old graduate of Paso Robles High School, has recently been given a diagnosis of stage three ovarian cancer. She and her family have launched a gofundme campaign to raise money for the costs accrued. There is also a fundraiser that will be held on Friday night, at the Paso Robles High School Homecoming game.

2. Police take security precautions for biker gang

Police from multiple agencies throughout the county are standing guard at the Paso Robles Police department, in preparation for a ride through town of the Vagos Motorcycle Club, according to an officer from the San Luis Obispo Police Department. Park and Pine streets are closed with barricades between 10th and 9th streets around the police department.

3. Young woman dies in tragic wrong-way collision

A young woman died in a traffic accident that occurred around 4 a.m. on 101 South near Spring Street, according to reports. The accident involved two cars and caused the entire 101 South to shut down. Traffic was redirected to exit at 24th St. and detoured via S. Vine St. One lane was re-opened around 6:30 a.m.

4. Major motion picture studio operating in Creston

Todd Fisher, the son of Debbie Reynolds and the late Eddie Fisher, has owned a ranch in Creston since 1989, where he operates a full production studio, Hollywood Motion Picture Experience. For many years, the ranch was the home of Reynolds’ $30-million museum collection. In recent years, however, the bulk of which has since been sold off, making room for Fisher to expand the family’s operation.
