Tourism advisory committee seeking two members

The Tourism Collaboration Committee (TCC), which advises the Paso Robles City Council on tourism-related items and projects, has two openings on its 7-member committee and is currently seeking applicants.

Paso RoblesThe TCC, formerly the Promotions Coordinating Committee, is comprised of 7 representatives of the major tourism-related industries and organizations in Paso Robles, including the CEO/Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Main Street, Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, Travel Paso Robles Alliance (hoteliers) and the Paso Robles Event Center. The two openings on the committee are considered “at large” and can be held by any owner/operator within the local tourism or hospitality industry, including restaurants, retailers, marketing firms, attractions, visitor services, etc.

The committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at City Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will be charged with overseeing the soon-to-be-established Tourism Resource Council, which will be comprised of any tourism partners who wish to stay apprised of current marketing and promotional opportunities and/or who wish to participate in addressing the opportunities and challenges in the local tourism industry through ad hoc committees and single-topic, limited-time task forces.

Owners or operators of Paso Robles-area tourism related businesses are invited to apply for the Tourism Collaboration Committee through July 15, 2014. Candidates will be interviewed by current TCC members in late July, who will recommend the two selections for City Council appointment as early as August.

Interested parties may download the application at www.prcity.com/advisory or pick up a printed copy at City Hall, located upstairs above the public library at 1000 Spring Street.
