Sugarland’s Kristian Bush playing July 25

Kristian BushThe Mid-State Fair announced Friday that Kristian Bush has been confirmed to perform two shows, on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., on the Frontier Stage. Kristian Bush’s performances will be free with paid admission to the fair.

Bush is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer and the founder of Sugarland. In 2004, he and singer Jennifer Nettles exploded onto the music scene, surpassing sales of over 22 million albums worldwide, achieving five No. 1 singles, and winning numerous awards, including trophies from the Grammys, AMAs, ACM Awards, CMT Music Awards and CMA Awards. A prolific songwriter, Bush released his first song as a solo act, “Love or Money,” in October of 2013; he is currently hard at work narrowing down the 300+ songs in his catalog for a debut solo album, due later this year. Meanwhile, fans can check out his “Music Mondays” series, where he streams one new song each week, on www.kristianbush.com.

Country act Reckless Kelly playing July 21

reckless-kellyThe Mid-State Fair announced Friday that Reckless Kelly has been confirmed to perform two shows, on Monday, July 21, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., on the Frontier Stage. Reckless Kelly’s performances will be free with paid admission to the fair.

Austin’s own Reckless Kelly released their 8th studio album, Grammy award-winning Long Night Moon, in September of last year. The album is the follow-up to 2011′s Grammy nominated Good Luck & True Love, which took home four Lone Star Music Awards, and sent three singles to #1 on Texas Radio. When Willy Braun, frontman and principal songwriter for the band began writing songs for Long Night Moon, he quickly found a theme emerging.

“About halfway through writing this record, I noticed that almost all of the songs had something to do with traveling. Before we knew it, there was a definite theme.” It’s honest, original and constantly evolving. The group is known for their explosive live shows and a passion for making albums of substance. Long Night Moon is no exception to this rule.
