Two injured in Highway 46 accident

– On Saturday, at approximately 6:10 a.m., Paso Robles Police Department officers and fire personnel responded to the intersection of Highway 46 and Golden Hill Road for a report of a rear-end traffic collision involving a pickup truck and semi-truck and trailer.

Officers determined two Fresno-area men suffered major injuries after their pickup rear-ended a semi-truck and trailer stopped for a red light. Both the pickup driver, a 57-year-old man from Fresno, and passenger, a 57-year-old man from Clovis, were taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo with major injuries. The driver of the big rig was not hurt. Officers determined that the pickup driver fell asleep at the wheel.
