Ultimate holiday light display at Broken Earth

Paso Robles winery on Hwy. 46 illuminates the night

Holiday lights

Driving along Highway 46 East in Paso Robles in the early evening, one can’t help notice the elaborate holiday light display at Broken Earth Winery. Those who have not seen the display are in for a big treat, but don’t wait too long – this weekend marks the final days of the winery’s extended tasting room hours for the season and that also means the light display will be shutting down a bit earlier as well.

The staff at Broken Earth Winery, located at 5625 Highway 46 East, presented their Holiday Lighting Program on Nov. 30 with a benefit for MUST! Charities. The event included a special appearance by Santa, live music from the Cuesta College Choir, an ugly sweater contest, and chocolate wine sampling followed by the illumination of the winery with over 50 extravagant holiday light fixtures.

Since the lighting program, the grounds of the winery have delighted passers-by with the delightful display. The Broken Earth tasting room has extended its weekend hours to 7:30 p.m. Friday-Sunday through the weekend of Dec. 20-22 to accommodate holiday shoppers and wine tasters.

“We’ve really enjoyed having the light display and the people that stop by seem to enjoy it as well,” said Chuck Mozena, tasting room manager. “Our plan is to make this an annual affair.”

Don’t miss the opportunity to take in the lights of the winery – and the joy of the season.
