Use library’s JobScout to learn new skills

The Paso Robles City Library announces its participation in JobScout, a new online resource designed to arm jobseekers with the know-how and confidence to use the Internet to its fullest potential.

According to JobScout, more than 20% of the US population lacks the fundamental Internet skills needed to engage technology, let alone possess the digital literacy it takes in today’s job market. The library’s newest resource is an online platform that uses social game design to teach and reinforce necessary Internet skills applied in a real life context.

Users earn badges for completing interactive lessons on everything from using Internet browsers to building custom resumes, applying online for a job, and creating social networks to gain employment.

The Paso Robles City Library is located at 1000 Spring Street and is open Monday – Friday 10-8, and Saturday 10-5. For more information on JobScout or other library resources, call the Reference Desk, 237-3870 or visit www.prcity.com/library.
