Vegetation fire contained in Paso Robles
Fire contained within 17 minutes
–On Sunday, July 17, 2016 at approximately 7:53 p.m., the Paso Robles Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire near the Canyon Creek Apartments near Oak Hill and Lombard Court in Paso Robles. The fire spread across 1-acre but, according to The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services, was contained within a 17 minute period.
Witnesses reported seeing two teenagers in the vicinity when the fire erupted. The teenagers have not been identified.
At approximately 9:01 p.m., those assisting in the clean-up, overhauling, and full extinguishing of the fire were released. These units included Paso Robles firefighters that were assisted by the Paso Robles Police Department, and Cal Fire SLO. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the vegetation fire has not yet been determined.
Emergency services would like to remind everyone to keep weeds trimmed and refrain from starting fires during this summer season when nature is susceptible to fires.
