Vina Robles announces concert series of local bands 

Vina Robles Amphitheater box office– Popular Central Coast bands Tipsy Gypsies, Jill Knight, Cuesta Ridge, Choro De Ouro, and Bear Market Riot will rock the RED4 Artist Series at Vina Robles Amphitheatre on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. The afternoon is presented by Vina Robles and Big Big SLO and will also feature various food and wine specials. Tickets are $17 and go on sale Saturday, Aug. 8 at 10 .m.

The Tipsy Gypsies are a modern gypsy jazz inspired quintet (bass, drums, guitar, violin, and vocals). In addition to their own prolific songwriting, the Tipsy Gypsies cover an array of crowd-adoring icons, including Nina Simone, Erykah Badu, Sharon Jones, and Louis Armstrong. Their upbeat, dance-inducing songwriting appeals to diverse audiences and age demographics, from the common listener to the inscrutable jazz aficionado.

Jill Knight‘s soulful sound is unmistakable. A native of Savannah, GA, Knight has a depth to her music that mixes Blues, R & B and Americana that will take the listener on a soulful, heartfelt journey. Jill has toured and shared stages with India Arie, Shawn Colvin, David Wilcox, Michael Hedges, Phoebe Snow, Richard Thompson, Little Feat, The Doobie Brothers and many other top performers. “With a voice that crests and tumbles like a waterfall, Knight is as elemental as the wind.” – Sacramento News and Reviews.

Cuesta Ridge is a 6-piece roots and Americana-based new grass band, formed in 2004 on the Central Coast. Their original music combines elements of bluegrass, rock, jazz and they are known for extensive live improvisations and tight vocal harmonies. Band members include Toan Chau (guitar/banjo/vocals), Pat Pearson (guitar/vocals), Dan Keller (mandolin/vocals), Allan Dick (fiddle), Matt Reeder (bass), and Brent Vanderweide (drums/percussion).

Choro de Ouro (which means Weeping Gold or Tears of Gold in Portuguese) is the premier Choro group on the Central Coast of California. Performing Brazilian traditional music filled with passion, virtuosic melodies and constant rhythm. Choro de Ouro’s members are Grant Chase (bandolim/cello), Shaun Fairfield (violao 7 cordas [7 string guitar]), Ron McCarley (flutes/piccolo/soprano sax), Graham Yates (pandeiro/percussion), and Keegan Harshman (percussion).

Bear Market Riot is a power-folk duo from California’s Central Coast that blends folk, blues and pop into an infectious acoustic vibe.
