Artsfest volunteers

Volunteers from last year’s ArtsFest

The Paso ArtsFest is now accepting volunteer applications for the Memorial Day Weekend celebration of visual and performing arts.

This year’s volunteer opportunities begin as early as March with poster distribution, and will go through Sunday, May 24 with the Hearst Castle Reception. Volunteer opportunities during the main event on Saturday, May 23, in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park, begin with festival setup and continue through the day with art activities for children, artist assistance, wet painting sale and auction, greeting, vending, entertainment and more.

Individuals and community service groups are encouraged to participate. The online volunteer application is available at pasoartsfest.com/volunteer. Hard copies of the volunteer registration form are available in the Paso Robles City Library, located at 1000 Spring Street in downtown Paso Robles, or can be obtained by emailing srobitaille@prcity.com. For more information, contact Library Volunteer Coordinator Suzanne Robitaille at (805) 237-3870.

Artsfest 2014More about Paso ArtsFest and Studios on the Park

Paso ArtsFest is a festival of the arts organized by Studios on the Park, a nonprofit, open studios art center in the heart of historic downtown Paso Robles, with 14 working artists, five galleries and a fine craft gift shop.

Just weeks after opening in 2009, Studios on the Park co-hosted the inaugural Festival of the Arts, and since that day, they have worked to ensure that the Central Coast community and its visitors continue to have access to the visual arts.

Recent efforts include collaborative special events, multimedia classes and workshops, fine art exhibitions, and the Kids Art Smart program which serves over 1,000 local schoolchildren. Through these and other efforts, Studios on the Park continues to fulfill their mission of making the creative process available to the public while becoming a strong cultural anchor to the downtown and a destination for tourists and art enthusiasts.
