Dec. 26, 2012 – at approximately 3:30 pm, State Parole officers requested assistance from the Paso Robles Police Department to apprehend a wanted parolee near the intersection of Captial Hill and Creston Road.

As police officers arrived, the parolee drove away in a vehicle eastbound on Creston Road. Police officers tried to stop the driver of the vehicle, but the parolee drove away and failed to yield to police lights and siren.

The parolee, later identified as Gabriel Garcia (DOB 9/24/72), put the public at danger by running several stop signs and red lights in order to flee the area.
A short time later, Garcia disabled his vehicle near the entrance to Spanish Lakes housing development and tried to run from the scene.

Garcia was quickly taken into custody for his parole warrant and will also be charged with possession of illegal narcotics and evading arrest.
