War dead remembered on Memorial Day
San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Frank Mecham welcomed more than 1,000 local residents to the Paso Robles District Cemetery on Memorial Day, Monday May 26. He spoke to the crowd about the significance of Memorial Day.
Army Major Dan Dow spoke to the crowd about his deployment to Afganistan with a National Guard Unit. The unit included a number of San Luis Obispo County soldiers. Dow serves as Assistant District Attorney for San Luis Obispo County and is running for DA. He also serves as a JAG Officer with the National Guard.
The Estrella Warbirds conducted a “flyover” in vintage aircraft near the beginning of the ceremony.
