The annual Wine Country Run Half Marathon and 5k is set for Sunday, March 15. The first place winner of the half marathon will win their weight in wine. The fundraising event, now in it’s 19th year draws hundreds or runners to Paso Robles to race through the picturesque vines and rolling hills on the north east side of town. It begins and ends at River Oaks Hot Springs and is a mostly paved course along the Salinas River. There were almost 1,000 runners registered in the 2014 half marathon and 5k combined.

The Wine Country Run Half Marathon and 5k is non-profit event and entirely run by volunteers. It raises money for local schools and youth organizations. Registration is open now. For details, visit www.winecountryruns.com.
