Wine festival concert at Vina Robles set for May 17

Girls and Boys, Captain Nasty, Zongo All-Stars and The Kicks set to play Vina Robles Amphitheatre

Moonshiner Collective, Girls & Boys, Captain Nasty, Zongo All-Stars, and The Kicks will play the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in celebration of the 33rd Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival on Sunday, May 17 at 1 p.m. The concert, presented by Vina Robles Entertainment and Big Big SLO, will also feature Samba Loca sets during intermissions. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m.

Moonshiner Collective is an indie rock, folk and americana based duo of multi-instrumentalist and singer Dan Curcio and drummer Ryan House. Their music often includes a variety of collaborators.

Girls & Boys’ have played at many venues in California including the Bottle Rock Fest in Napa, Great American Music Hall, Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Vina Robles Amphitheatre, and The Sweetwater Music Hall. They are also the recipients of the Bay Area’s Bohemian Best Indie Band Award in 2012. The band’s members consist of: Brianna Lee, vocals, guitar, keys; Josh Barrett, bass; Mark Tarlton, drums; Nick Simmons, guitar; and Ross Barbieri, guitar, vocals.

Captain Nasty is a 9-piece funk band hailing from the Central Coast of California. They create music that incorporates the improvisational  elements of jazz with the rhythms of African and Latin music. The band consists of drum, electric bass, electric guitar, keyboard, percussion, alto sax, tenor sax, baritone sax, and lead female vocalist.

Zongo All-Stars have been performing all over the Central Coast with a unique blend of afro-latin / afro-caribbean / funk / reggae / calypso music. The sound starts with drums, congas, timbales, and other percussion with the addition of electric bass and guitar, as well as a strong horn section, featuring trumpet, saxes and flutes.

Led by front woman Reese Galido’s, The Kicks have been bringing their unique roots reggae sound to the Central Coast of California and beyond since 2003.
