Woman arrested for DUI after car hits man
A woman was arrested at Heritage Ranch early Sunday morning for suspected drunk driving after hitting a pedestrian, the California Highway Patrol reports.
On March 9, 2014 at approximately 12:25 a.m. Paso Robles residents Richelle Lee Baumunk, 42, and Travis J. Eicher, 37, were leaving a house party located at a residence in Heritage Ranch, the report says.
Baumunk was driving her 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound on Waterview Drive just east of Windward Way, traveling at approximately 5 miles per hour. Eicher was walking eastbound in the roadway on Waterview Drive just east of Windward Way. Due to Baumunk’s level of intoxication, she failed to take evasive action in her vehicle and struck Eicher, the report says.
Witnesses at the scene detained Baumunk until law enforcement arrived at the scene. Eicher suffered moderate injuries including a fractured ankle and was transported to Twin Cities Hospital, the report says. Baumunk was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
