The National Stock Horse Association held its seventh annual show at the Paso Robles Event Center this past weekend. This year’s event, which took place from Monday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 24, drew 500 participants to compete for price money.

The World’s Richest Stock Horse was won by Dom Dualuise, ridden by Phillip Ralls and owned by Chris Larsen. The purse won by Dom Dualuise totalled $8,500. Second place went to Skeets Oak Peppy, ridden and owned by Clayton Edsall, who won $5,000. Third place went to Jans Rey Cuatro, ridden by Nicholas Barthelemy and owned by Sher Jamieson, who won $2,000. Fourth place went to Judge Boon, ridden by Jon Roeser and owned by Loren Macey and James Baker.

Show Manager Tanna Dilday said that the World’s Richest Stock Horse competition has the older horses with “probably the best riders in the industry.” But for some of the horses this is their very first show they’ve been in, Dilday said.

The week-long horse show included numerous events including derby rein, futurity rein, derby herd, futurity her, derby cow, futurity cow and more. The show included different classes of horses based on aged, as well as different levels of horses, with riders as young 9 and going into 70s.
