Ximena Ames joins Parent Connection as parent coach 

Ames brings 30 years of experience working with familiesAmes

Parent Connection hirds Ximena T. Ames as the newest addition to its team of parent coaches. Ximena T. Ames, M. A. has taught parenting classes both in Spanish and English through San Luis Coastal Adult School and South County S.A.F.E. for the past two years. Ximena has over 30 years of experience having worked as a therapist both in Colorado and Texas. She has experience working as a mediator for Superior Court in Santa Maria, helping parents to peacefully discuss and decide how to share custody of their children.

“We’re thrilled to have Ximena as an addition to our team,” said Parent Education Program Director of Parent Connection Michele Gordon, “with her 30 years of experience and being a parent herself, Ximena recognizes the challenges parents face and enjoys helping parents to resolve discipline problems with simple but effective strategies.”

Ames is fluent in Spanish and English, has a master’s degree in depth psychotherapy and is trained in neurolinguistic programming.

Ames provides free and confidential parent coaching on the telephone and in person for South County parents and for Spanish-speaking parents county-wide. She can be reached at (805) 462-7135.
