13th Annual Wine & Roses Rides On October 11 

Wine and Roses Bike RideThe Templeton Wine & Roses Bike Ride returns for its 13th year on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. It is the premier wine country ride on the Central Coast, sponsored by the Templeton Chamber of Commerce and features a complimentary post ride BBQ with wine from Wildhorse Winery and 805 brand beer from Firestone-Walker Brewing Co., at the start/finish line in the Templeton Community Park.

Three rides are available to meet every rider’s ability level: The classic 30-Mile Ride, the 62-Mile Metric Century and 100-Mile Century Ride. The Templeton Wine and Roses Bicycle Ride is limited to 350 participants and usually sells out. This Central Coast ride offers some of the best routes available to cyclists, along the scenic country roads of the North County, along the east side of Highway 101, from Templeton to Creston to Paso Robles and back.

Registration is $65 per rider at Active.com. Tandem cyclists must register individually. Day of Registration sign ups are $75 per rider, and may not be available if ride is sold out. Registration fee includes rest stop refreshments, BBQ lunch, souvenir wine glass, wine & beer, and a rose for the ladies. Extra BBQ meals for guests of riders are only $15. This ride benefit the chamber, Templeton High Athletic Boosters and the Templeton Community Library Association.

The Bike Bash Dinner kicks off the ride the night before, at 5:30 pm on Friday October 10
, at Wild Horse Winery
. Tickets are $35. Hors d’oeuvres will include a variety of kielbasa barbecued to perfection followed by a menu from caterer La Donna Dulce featuring organic mixed greens with heirloom tomatoes, baked ziti with chicken and eggplant and cabernet chocolate drizzle for dessert.
