14 acres burn south of Lake Nacimiento
Cal Fire crews stopped forward progress on a vegetation fire that burned about 14 acres late Tuesday morning amid challenging terrain south of Lake Nacimiento. The vegetation fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 6000 block of Gage Irving (South Lake Nacimiento), and labeled the CampFire.
Cal Fire responded to the blaze with five engines, a bulldozer and a water tender. Crews were on scene at approximately 3 p.m., with the blaze at 40 percent containment, Cal Fire San Luis Obispo reported. Four aircraft also responded.
By 9 a.m. Wednesday, the fire was 95-percent contained at about 14 acres. Crews will continue to mop up hot spots throughout the day.
